"I love yoga. Not too long ago I was sitting
in one of my classes wishing I were in yoga. The structure and discomfort associated
with academic classes puts a strain on me that goes beyond the physical or the
mental—four years of college has left part of me emotionally weary. What yoga does,
in its own way, is refuel the part of my physical, mental, and emotional reservoirs
drained by school. Yoga both invigorates me and relaxes me. I feel that the appreciation
fostered in me here and now for yoga will continue into both the short-term
(the upcoming weeks and months) as well as the long-term (years to come).
Also, another big "thank you" for opening my eyes to the wonders of yoga this past semester; you were wonderful!"

"I firmly believe that yoga can take my life in the direction
I want it to be health wise. It engages my mind as well as body to create greater
awareness of how I am living. Outside of class, I am realizing how much of what I do
from day to day affects the way I feel, emotionally as well as physically. From the foods
I eat to how I let the things that happen during the day affect me, everything causes
my body to tell me something new. I love the way yoga helps me relax and sleep better at
night. Also, it has helped me to focus in everyday tasks and class. Most of all, yoga
has helped me realize areas of my body and life where I need to focus on balancing and
strengthening. I feel as though this is a practice which I have long been looking for
that demands me to challenge my body and self without pushing too much. Finally,
I am extremely attracted to the non-competitiveness of yoga. In tennis,
my coach would get upset with me because he didn’t understand why I didn’t
mind so much if I was winning or losing. I was in the sport to play and to
enjoy reaching a point of my best game as possible, not to compete. Yoga gives
me that without the pressure to go beyond my capabilities and injure myself." Melanie
"My FINAL evaluation of Yoga is that I am sad that I cannot take it anymore for credit,
and my Tuesday/Thursday schedule is full for next semester so I probably won’t be in a
yoga classroom, but I will still use the poses I have learned. From being in 3 sessions
of Hatha Yoga I have become way more flexible as well as finding something that clears
my mind. I am a very ADD person and I always have to be doing something or involved.
Yoga has helped me to relax more and for the 1 ½ hours I think of nothing but the stretch
and the pose. I find myself very calm and relaxed after taking yoga, and am able to carry
out my day better and feeling very good about having done yoga earlier. I think that I
would like to try different types of Yoga and continue taking it so I do not lose what I
have already gained these last three quarters. I liked the idea of the heated room with
the intense yoga series. I like trying new things, and think this would be a great workout
as well as continuing to practice yoga. I live about 10 minutes from campus and will be
here all summer if you are teaching any evening yoga classes I would love to take one so
I can keep my Yoga skills up and not lose everything just because I cannot get credit for
the class anymore. I appreciate all your help through the three classes, and making the
class so much fun, and wanting to show up every Tuesday/Thursday." Mark
"I love yoga because every day when I practice it
I have just finished 2 ½ hours of lifting and running for football and although
I am beat down and worn out at the end of the yoga session I feel relaxed, loose,
and most of all calm. I start and end everyday with a 10-minute yoga session to
keep my body feeling right. I plan to do that as well as an hour class 2-3 times
a week for the rest of my life. " George
